ZF Asia Pacific
ZF Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, the regional headquarters of global mobility leader ZF Friedrichshafen AG has transformed its workplace into a dynamic environment that balances precision, innovation, and collaboration. Designed by ID Integrated, this project reflects ZF’s dedication to advanced mobility solutions alongside a growing focus on sustainability and employee well-being.
This is more than an office. It is a carefully crafted experience where design drives performance, identity, and connection.
A Journey from Welcome to Work
The spatial design draws inspiration from ZF’s automotive and engineering heritage, guiding visitors through a transition that begins with the open hospitality of a modern showroom and moves into the focused energy of a high-performance workspace.
At the entrance, a town-hall-style area with tiered seating sets a welcoming tone. Vertical timber slats frame the space, complemented by integrated greenery and an illuminated ZF logo that commands attention. This area functions as both a lounge and a stage for presentations or internal events. The presence of natural elements adds warmth and reinforces ZF’s commitment to sustainability and harmony between technology and nature.
Moving deeper into the office, the environment shifts to a more immersive workspace. Richer tones, graphic elements, and material transitions reflect the move from public-facing to task-focused zones—supporting a variety of working styles while maintaining visual coherence.
Colour, Collaboration, and Purpose
One of the standout design elements is the use of vibrant vertical poles distributed throughout the open-plan office. These colorful columns symbolize ZF’s core values, such as innovation, sustainability, collaboration, and performance. Beyond their symbolic meaning, they provide subtle spatial zoning and visual rhythm, reinforcing brand identity without overwhelming the environment.
Open, Green, and Designed for Engagement
The workspace embraces an open seating plan to encourage visibility, transparency, and communication. Greenery is thoughtfully integrated not only at the entrance but also throughout the main office—through hanging planters, corner displays, and shelf-integrated plants. This biophilic approach promotes comfort, reduces stress, and creates an energizing atmosphere.
Adjacent to the workstations are dedicated discussion areas designed to support quick huddles, brainstorming sessions, and spontaneous meetings. These flexible spaces include writable surfaces, acoustic treatments, and adaptable furniture, offering a middle ground between formal meeting rooms and open desks. This balance provides the agility that modern teams require.
Interactive Corners that Spark Connection
Scattered around the office are interactive corners, compact zones crafted to encourage engagement and creativity. Whether featuring touch-screen walls for company updates, idea-sharing spaces, or cozy nooks for recharging, these areas invite employees to move away from their desks and connect in more informal ways.
These elements align with global workplace trends championed by firms such as Gensler and HOK, where interaction and well-being are recognized as key drivers of productivity.
Aesthetic Identity: Modern. Innovative. Dynamic.
The overall aesthetic is unmistakably modern clean lines, thoughtful lighting, and warm textures establish a professional yet approachable atmosphere. Brand colors, mission-driven graphics, and varied materials energize the space, ensuring every area feels purposeful and alive.
- Modern: Flexible furniture, clean design, and integrated technology.
- Innovative: Adaptable zones, mission-focused visuals, and sustainable details.
