Celebrating the Inspiring Moms of IDI this Mother’s Day 🌷

Today, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, we want to shine a spotlight on the amazing mothers within the IDI family. These women are not only integral to our team, bringing passion and dedication to their work, but they are also the fierce and inspiring anchors of their homes. They navigate the beautiful, challenging, and rewarding journey of motherhood with grace and strength, and we are so proud to have them as part of our community.

Motherhood is a journey unlike any other, filled with unexpected joys, lessons learned, and a love that knows no bounds. We asked some of our incredible IDI moms to share a glimpse into their experiences, and their responses are a testament to the power, resilience, and profound impact of being a mother.

Insights from the Heart: Stories from Our IDI Moms

Ivy Teo (IDI Sr. Contract Executive) shared a surprising aspect of motherhood: the magic of Language Development. “Babies start babbling, then suddenly say their first words such as bababa, mamama, bububu,” she noted, highlighting the wonder of witnessing a child’s communication unfold. For challenges, Ivy spoke about the struggle of not having enough time. Her solution? Making sure to spend quality time with her baby, “playing, cuddling, and feeding,” and actively treasuring every moment.

Margharetha (IDI HR Manager) offered invaluable advice for new moms: Enjoy the motherhood journey. She emphasized that the early years are a precious time, filled with milestones that create lasting memories. Mag also reflected on how motherhood has changed her perspective, fostering more empathy and compassion, not just towards her children but towards everyone. She also spoke about the resilience and strength that comes from facing the challenges of raising a child.

Vernise Tan (IDI Exec. Director) shared the best parenting advice she’s ever received: **Let the kids go by their own pace, every child is different**. This simple yet profound advice acknowledges the unique journey of each child. When it comes to celebrating small victories, Vernise finds joy in the simple moments of **enjoying each moment she has to sit with her girls and her husband**, whether it’s for dinner, a walk in the park, or even a trip to the grocery store.

For Mei Fong (Project Admin), a cherished childhood memory she hopes to pass on is the **siblings’ love with her two brothers**. She fondly remembers playing together every day as a kid, a happy memory she wants her children to experience. To unwind and recharge, Meifong enjoys **watching dramas she loves and shopping**.

Janice Cailon (IDI Regional Design Director) revealed how her child taught her something new about herself: how to be resilient and strong. She discovered a side of herself she never knew existed, being both fun and firm, soft when needed, yet unshakable when it matters most. When asked to describe motherhood in three words, Janice chose Love beyond limits, explaining that it’s a love that stretches you in every direction – emotionally, physically, and mentally – a love that is boundless, selfless, and always evolving.

Siew Ping (IDI Contract Manager) shared her strategy for staying connected with her kids as they grow: maintaining a relationship with them as a friend or listener. She emphasizes the importance of listening to their needs and concerns to stay connected. Her favorite family tradition is having a light conversation before going to bed each night, a simple ritual that helps her understand their daily activities and what they faced during the day, fostering a deeper connection.

Finally, Sarah Fang (Design Manager) shared a poignant discovery since becoming a mom: the unexpected package deal of love and exhaustion. She candidly admitted to days of being the patient, fun mom and days of simply trying to make it to bedtime, but found that in between the chaos, the simple things matter most – her son reaching for her hand or shouting “Mama.” The most important thing she hopes her children will always remember about their childhood is that they were loved not perfectly but consistently. She wants them to know that “home was his safe base,” and that even when she was tired or messy, she was always in their corner.
