ID Integrated Office at Taiseng Centre

Due to building redevelopment, ID Integrated was faced with the daunting prospect of moving to a new space. After careful searching, they found a holistically-aligned location not too far from their old office, and large enough to accommodate the various activities of this gregarious firm. The new office needed to function not just as housing for their business activities but also as a showcase for all the tricks of the trade, creating a multi-textured experience for their clients and visitors.

The fallout from the landlord’s decision to redevelop their building came as an unexpected turn of events for IDI. They had been comfortably building an enclave at the Harrison Road building for 5 years so the news that they would have to move was met with mixed emotions. IDI existed on the mantra ‘work hard, play hard’ and their old office was the epitome of the co-working aesthetic, seamlessly blending a functional workspace with a haven of day-to-day lifestyle activities. It would be a formidable task to rebuild this institution in a different locale.

The silver lining to this development was that the design team had the opportunity to ‘build it better’. Over the years, the first-hand experience they had gathered allowed them to create a laundry list of fixes and improvements they could apply to their new office; from the occasional lack of privacy inherent in open-plan, to the never-ending scramble for meeting rooms. Eventually, a master plan was formulated and as soon as a location was approved, the designers sprung into action. The construction of the new office was split into two phases allowing the designers the opportunity to experience the crafting in real-time. This allowed new ideas to flower amidst the plaster and sawdust, changes to be enacted instantly and conflicts to be resolved at ground zero; resulting in a thoroughly visceral experience.

The end result was a triumph in teamwork and inclusivity; blending together multiple viewpoints, design concepts and ideas, and as the iconic IDI pivot door swung open on the day of the Grand Opening to esteemed guests and clients, the team at IDI heaved not just a sigh of relief, but of pride.
