What’s your favorite part about working in business development, and how has it evolved over the years?
- The most valuable thing about working in business development is getting opportunities to talk, to work and to learn from “the big brains” of the leading multinational companies. Over the years, the more opportunities I got, the more I have matured.
Can you share about a particularly successful project or deal you’ve worked on with IDI? What made it stand out, and what did you learn from it?
- I would like to share about the first project of IDI Vietnam. The client is my previous client before I joined IDI. The client knew that IDI was also doing fit-out project and contacted me when they had a new opportunity, even though we had just registered IDI in Vietnam at that time. This led me to learn that, when you work professionally and with empathy towards your client, you will build trust and lasting relationship with your clients.
How do you stay current with industry trends and developments?
- To keep developing my market, I keep up with the industry through: market research: understand customer needs, competitor activities and emerging trends, networking: engaging with professional partners, friends via events, forums to catch update news soonest, and continuous learning: about new trends, customer psychology, corporate management and engagement, personal skills.
